Our COVID-19 response: A message from our CEO

To our readers,

As we all come together as a global community during the COVID-19 outbreak, I wanted to share what we are doing to play our part during these difficult times.

For those affected by cancer

We know this is a particularly vulnerable time for those who are immunocompromised, including some cancer patients and survivors, and those with underlying medical conditions.  For tips, resources and answers to some common questions on cancer and COVID-19, please see the Canadian Cancer Society’s information page.

For our partners

Our partners across the country are facing a greater need, so we’ve allocated immediate funding and technological supports to assist the provincial and territorial cancer agencies and health ministries. Many of the jurisdictions are now pursuing these opportunities aimed at improving cashflow and enhancing our partners’ ability to keep those affected by cancer and their communities safe, informed and well cared for.

For our employees

The Partnership has maintained a work-from-home option for several years, so our employees are well-positioned to continue our programs and work with partners as best we can. At this time, all in-person meetings are postponed or cancelled, and we have shifted to a fully remote environment with flexible working arrangements for all staff.

In these most uncertain times, we want to assure you that the safety of our staff, community and partners is a top priority for us.

Many people are concerned about their physical and mental well being. Canadians are being challenged in a number of ways because of isolation, financial and employment uncertainty and disruptions to daily life. Wellness Together Canada provides tools and resources to help get Canadians back on track.
